An American friend recently asked, “What is it that you celebrate for Canadian Thanksgiving?” Well, it is generally the same thing as in the U.S. According to Wikipedia, it is to celebrate “the harvest and all the blessings of the past year.”
This question sparked our thoughts about celebrating wellness. This Thanksgiving let’s honor the wholesome food we have available to us, the active lifestyles we lead, the wonderful nourishing relationships we have, and the great health and wellness that results from these blessings and actions.
Thanksgiving is a special day for many, and especially for those who gather with family and friends to share a special meal. This is a day that we say to you, “Enjoy everything on the table!” The calories you consume may be higher than desired and the refined sugar you have in those luscious desserts may be more than you have in total all year! Don’t worry and enjoy what you truly desire. We are not saying that you should make yourself sick! Eat to celebrate the harvest and to toast all the blessings you have. The one ‘spike’ in your eating chart is not going to kill your motivation to eat healthy every other day.
Happy Thanksgiving!
This Thanksgiving, we feel blessed to have so many wonderful followers and we thank you for your ongoing support.

dearest Lia – Happy Thanksgiving to all of you – including Mary and her loved ones. I’ve been loving your blog and SO GRATEFUL to take this moment to join you in the truest heart of THANKSGIVING which is to stop, give thanks for the health, strength, faith, friendships, healthful food, and the ability to CHOOSE a healthy lifestyle. That, in itself, is bigger than we can even imagine. THANK YOU!!!
